Centering Pregnancy Model for PreNatal Care

The Centering Pregnancy Model is being sponsored by the Healthy Start Coalition at all Orange County Health Dept. sights that offer prenatal care.

The program provides a group prenatal experience. Monthly sessions are held where you not only receive your private medical care appointment but also an opportunity to learn with others in the same circumstance more about topics related to your pregnancy, your health and your baby. Discussions are facilitated by a trained professional and cover topics such as childbirth, breastfeeding, nutrition and safety issues.

Women with due dates close to one another are assigned to the same group, so they get to know each other during their pregnancy and they learn from and with one another, forming friendships that last far beyond pregnancy.
